[CRASH] SourceGit v2026.16 continuously crashed and cannot open on macOS 26.5.2

Description

After updating SourceGit with Homebrew on macOS 26.5.2 (previously installed with brew install --cask sourcegit) on a Macbook Pro M2, SourceGit v2026.16 crashed and cannot open. The app icon flashed in the dock before immediately disappeared and SourceGit is not opened. No matter how I tried to open the app (via Applications in Finder, via Spotlight, via CLI) it always produces this behavior. Previous versions worked smoothly for me, and all I did was a brew update && brew upgrade command and SourceGit is now bricked. Video of the behavior is in this Google Drive link.

Expected behavior

SourceGit opens and works normally.

Same problem here... But I downloaded the the executable, put it in the applications folder and ran xattr command myself... Still this version didn't open... Previous version works fine.

I just downloaded the https://github.com/sourcegit-scm/sourcegit/releases/download/v2026.16/sourcegit_2026.16.osx-arm64.zip and tested it on my MacBook Pro (M3max). I can confirm it works fine on my device.

I'm using macOS 15.7.7 and I'll try to find what's wrong later (I'm very busy these days)

Same issue on my MacBook with version v2026.16 but not with v2026.15. Had to go from homebrew to manual installation to use the old version for now.

Yes, I've tried following the guide of that commit, but open -a SourceGit <path> presented the same issue.

Experienced the same. Created a fork to check what's happening and it seems that in IpcChannel.cs it fails to create a NamedPipeServerStream

System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: The path '/var/folders/1m/g3lyhy8x1w19f2d7gp577kj00000gn/T/CoreFxPipe_SourceGitIPCChannelchristiaan_116662DD139BC98F' is of an invalid length for use with domain sockets on this platform.
